Chiropractic for Pregnancy
How can chiropractic help during pregnancy
Pregnancy causes many major changes in the body, resulting in pain and discomfort. Chiropractic care can provide safe relief from lower back pain, sciatica, leg cramps, constipation, and other symptoms, and can help reduce difficulties during labor.
Why come to us for chiropractic care during your pregnancy
Here at Rothman Chiropractic and Wellness Center we have extensive experience providing personalized care during your pregnancy. Dr. Rothman is certified by the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (I.C.P.A.). This certification includes treatments for expectant mothers. Dr. Rothman is also certified in the Webster Technique, a chiropractic technique that is used specifically for pregnant women.
What is the Webster Technique and how does it help during pregnancy
The Webster Technique is a gentle chiropractic adjustment that aligns the pelvis and includes a soft tissue release of associated muscle groups. It allows the pelvis to function properly during pregnancy. The technique reduces soft tissue tension that may cause uterine torsion which allows for an ideal environment for the baby to grow and move. The technique does not involve any twisting, cracking, or popping.
The Webster Technique is specific chiropractic analysis and adjustment that reduces interference to the nervous system and balances maternal pelvic muscles and ligaments. This in turn may reduce tension in the mother’s pelvic muscles and ligaments and contribute to optimal fetal positioning in preparation for birth." -International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA)
